10 No-Fuss Ways To Figuring Out Your Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A  boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it can be improved upon a reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest.  item level up  means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
